Bektemir District Municipality

Bektemir district is an administrative and territorial unit of Tashkent. The name of the area comes from the name of the Bektemir canal flowing through the area. 1960-73. the city of Bektemir of the Sredne-Chirchik district of the Tashkent region, 1973-90. the city, 1981-90. was named in honor of the statesman and public figure narimon narimonov (1870-1925). It was established on February 27, 1990 as a district. Bektemir district is located on the southeastern side of Tashkent city, outside the Great Ring Road, mainly on the left bank of the Chirchik River. The area is 3,494.2 hectares (34.9 thousand km). sq. m.). The population is 68.5 thousand people. Of these, 11456 are young people and 34.9 thousand are women. The number of families in the district is 23974. There are currently 18 blocks in the area. There are 106 streets in total, 14 main ones: small narrow ones-66, berkov streets-26. Bektemir, Akhangaran, Hussein boykara, Altyntopgan, etc.
